Ndesa: a jungle world awaits
A strange world within the rainforest canopy where life follows the rhythms of nature and the future is never quite clear.
He reached for the stars.
The jungle found him instead…
Dashin grew up on a desert world, always the youngest, always alone. The first chance he got, he signed onto a mining ship, seeking adventure as they prospected uncharted space.
Things didn’t go as planned.
Stranded in a treetop village among strange people, some of whom have gifts that defy logic, he is thrust into a series of deadly trials. Trials he’s entirely untrained for, even before the attempts on his life begin.
Alina grew up in a canopy village, yearning for something beyond the life she knew. That “something” may just have fallen from the sky. To claim it, she must embrace the gift she’s always feared and trust in impossible visions and an unlikely ally. And, she must do it before it all slips through her fingers.
They just wanted a simple life.
It was not to be…
Dashin has found the family he dreamed of. Life is nearly everything he hoped it might be. But while Alina is thrilled to have him by her side, she grapples with what this means for the future.
When a mysterious disease arises that preys on seers, anxiety ripples through the village. Unease turns to dread as grim news reaches them of a scourge that stalks the treetops and might see their entire world undone.
If they are to avoid disaster, the tribe must find a way to stand against an implacable force. As visions have foreseen, Dashin, Alina and Pritha are thrust into the center of the coming storm. But visions are muddled, most of them dire, and time is running out.
About the Author
David Pariseau has always dreamed of writing novels. He even tried it a few times amid life’s obligations and detours. This book and those that follow are the culmination of that dream.
David lives in the Bay Area in California with his wife Janis and his writing partner Coco, who’s been invaluable in fleshing out Pritha’s details, though he still doesn’t understand why she had to be a cat and not a Shih-Tzu.
